The Workers Community Support Program
Supporting our local community is more than tradition at the Wonthaggi Workers Club, it’s an important part of what we stand for. Since our founding in 1911, we’ve proudly partnered with local organisations, schools, and charities, helping them deliver meaningful programs, events and opportunities that strengthen the Bass Coast region.
The Workers Community Support Program formalises our ongoing commitment to giving back through both financial and in-kind assistance. We’re proud to stand alongside those who make our community stronger, healthier and more connected.
Program Overview
The Workers Community Support Program offers Financial and In-Kind contributions to local not-for-profit organisations, sporting clubs, schools, and community groups that benefit the wider community.
1. Financial Donations
Helping local groups continue their important work through direct monetary support.
Examples include:
- Contributions to local charities, schools, and community groups.
- Sponsorships for sporting clubs or community events.
- Donations to health and wellbeing initiatives.
- Support for domestic violence prevention or mental health organisations.
2. In-Kind Support
We understand that not every form of help is financial. The Workers is proud to assist through:
- Catering Support: Donating or subsidising catering for community events, fundraisers, and team functions.
- Venue Hire: Providing meeting or event spaces at reduced or no cost.
- Equipment & Resources: Access to club facilities, audio-visual equipment, or other resources where available.
Community Focus Areas
We welcome applications that align with our community values and focus areas:
- Health & Wellness: Supporting initiatives that improve physical and mental wellbeing.
- Education & Youth: Assisting schools, junior sports, and youth development programs.
- Social Inclusion: Encouraging connection and participation across all ages and backgrounds.
- Local Events: Helping create community experiences that bring people together.
- Vulnerable Groups: Offering support to services and programs that protect and empower those in need.
